There are so many things I should be doing, like finishing the, erm, smut I'm writing for [livejournal.com profile] shaggydogstail or sweeping the floors or cleaning the windows or writing a review or working on my paper or working on AIL 12 which I already have started or responding to comments or... or. (Although I did work out already!) But what am I doing?

1. How long have you been in fandom?

I think I started at Immeritus in June or July of 2004? Wow. Almost two years.

2. How did you discover fandom/what was your route into it?

I was bored. Plus, the Weyr I was in in the Pern fandom got a bit into HP, and several of us were convinced about R/S. I started looking around on line and found there were a lot more people. I joined Immeritus, and for a while just had some fun arguing slash with people. Then I toned down the arguments and swore I'd never write fanfic for HP. Then there was this "Sirius Black is Mine" contest. Someone (I believe it was [livejournal.com profile] wickedevra) told me I should write an entry for Remus. I did. Then someone (and this time I KNOW it was [livejournal.com profile] wickedevra cited a line about how the only time Sirius had ever really cried was after he ran away from home, and said that I should write that. So I wrote Deny Thy Father. And it's all been downhill from there :)

It's funny. [livejournal.com profile] wickedevra is probably my #1 R/S convert, but I never would have written Deny Thy Father/Mentors/Accidentally In Love without her prodding.

3. Do you actively participate in any forums you may wish to pimp to me? Any you joined then but would not set foot in now?

Immeritus is actually pretty cool. I started out there, but left for two reasons:

1.) (the less important reason) You can only discuss the theories so much, y'know? And Sirius is dead, so... it makes Sirius-related theories even harder to discuss when there's no new canon on him.
2.) (the real reason) They switched sites and my computer doesn't like the chat set up, and it shows the message boards really, really weird.

Outside of LJ, the only other one I participate in is FAP, and that's just more for amusement value than anything else.

4. How did you discover LJ, and what made you get one?

I forget, but it was through fandom. And I got one partly because [livejournal.com profile] franticbabbles said I should :) I think this is where more of the audience I wanted to reach with stories was.

5. How did you come up with your username?

Because I'm 31 and already quite grey (and my hair is mouse brown if I don't dye it), and the most prominant feature of my face is the lines under my eyes when I'm tired. I've since regretted my username, because I've learned that a sure sign of teenybopperism is to use your favorite character's name in your user name. Oops.

6. Who is your favourite character, and why?

Okay. I love Sirius, Remus and their crew like nobody's business, but honestly? I do truly love Harry himself. I love that he's so imperfect, and yet such a good, nice kid at the same time. If Toby turned out like Harry, I'd be very, very proud of him.

7. Have your opinions changed towards any characters/ships in your time in fandom?

I like Sirius more now that I've gotten into fandom. I always liked him, but now I adore the boy. Other than that... I go through waves where I get frustrated with Remus, but... and I never used to like Draco, but now I just get tired of hearing about him.

8. Do you write/draw within fandom? What made you start?

Write. And blame [livejournal.com profile] wickedevra. It's all her fault.

9. Does what you write/draw differ from what you would read? How so? What are your biggest kinks/squicks?

I'll read a lot more explicit stuff than I generally write. Personally, I think my sex scenes tend towards the mediocre, and I am much better at plot and characterization than I am at writing smut. (If you were going to compare me to a BNF, I'd say the best comparison is [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge in that I'm great at plot, but my prose could use some polishing.)

Kinks: Plot. Action. Adventure. And maybe a little domination.

Squicks: Incest is #2. #1 is out of character behavior. I can't read ships like H/D because I can't see why either of them would want to get within 20 miles of each other. Honestly. But after that is incest. Hmmm. Sexually explicit stories about any of the younger generation, just because I am old. Rape, unless the object is a recovery story. Shoebox Project characterizations or comparisons. Did I mention incest?

10. Of what piece of your work are you most proud, and why (link, please). Non-writers/artists, please can I have a link to something you love?

I've answered this question before and the link is in the sidebar, but Mentors. Although I have to admit, I'm REALLY happy with Chapter 11 of AIL!

PS... Making people cry since August '03. *g* Seriously, I love this story. My heart was already broken - not just over Sirius - and writing it...kept ripping the scab off, but it was cathartic nonetheless. HBP makes it sort of AU, but whatever.

*g* That's my story!

Shoebox Project characterizations or comparisons.

Oh, yes. Or rather, no, for the love of all that is holy, no. ;D

I'm looking forward to the smut. No pressure or anything.

I feel so important! :) And just for the record, after (eventually) reading your uber-long post about why you ship R/S, I saw you in chat and suggested that you enter Sirius Black is mine from Remus's PoV. Happy day *twirls*

oh no, that makes me a teenybopper too! -bop bop-

you know, i used to read lots of h/d.. even wrote a tiny bit of it and beta-ed a fair amount but then i got tired of its implausibility (and the numerous amount of cringeworthy badfics) so i left, with no regrets. r/s has been all I've read after that.. I don't think I'll tire of it for a very long while, because it's so rich in possibilities and history and I really like the characters involved a lot more, they are more colourful..

Well, at least we didn't do something with a romantic implication, like Mrslupin or lupinslover or something like that. That would really be the kiss of death! :)

I just can't get into H/D. I've read one H/D fic I liked (because it was a lot of R/S, too), and it was novel-length, as would really be required. There's just so much canon hatred between the two of them.... It really baffles me that Harry/Ron is such a tiny ship compared to Harry/Draco, because Harry/Ron at least makes a TON of sense, whereas Harry/Draco just... yeah.

Ah well!

Mrslupins would be just wrong because.. he belongs to Sirius! Mwahahahaha.

There is some very well written H/D, but not very canon in my opinion.. In any case I think JKR was rather lazy with Draco's characterization, he mostly exists to me as two dimensional. ooh what fic is that, do you remember? I might take a look at that one day..

Ron doesn't complement Harry the way Sirius complements Remus. Hoho! Personally I'm not a big fan of Ron, actually.
