Site update giggles
Sep. 29th, 2006 11:16 amHeh. JKR updated her site. I might have to try the W.O.M.B.A.T. test, except I should be cleaning frantically instead of taking a break, so we'll see. Two entertaining items though:
I was amused that she answered the question "Snape was there hiding under the Invisibility Cloak when the Potters died." I kind of like the theory that either Snape or Peter was there (I lean more towards Peter because I think Harry could easily recognize Snape's voice), but it never even occurred to me that he might be under the Invisibility Cloak. But note the way she answered that question does not preclude Snape being present at Godric's Hollow- it just means he wasn't Invisible.
And Regulus Black is not Stubby Boardman. This amused me solely because of
shaggydogstail's universe. Personally, I think Regulus is deader than a doornail, and is probably an Inferi guarding the fake Horcrux that he put there. And I think Stubby is Stubby, and JKR just put that in to have some fun. But I really like Stubby/Sirius these days, it's utterly canon compliant, and I'm just so not into Blackcest myself.
So I am amused. And I am also looking at the clock and panicking. Back to cleaning!

Date: 2006-09-29 03:39 pm (UTC)Yeah, I noticed that too. I do hope that the voice telling Lily to take Harry and run is James's, though. A lot of my good opinion of him as an adult is built on that.
"Regulus was dead, to begin with. As dead as a doornail..."

She doesn't have half as much fun with him as I do. Or Sirius, for that matter.

Date: 2006-10-02 02:26 pm (UTC)I'm actually relieved that it's not Regulus, either. Aside from the fact that the timeline just really didn't work, it really undermines the coolness of Regulus if he's still alive. :P

If he turns out to be RAB, I think I would be a wee bit disappointed if Regulus is alive and in hiding. There is something, for me, to the Black brother's story that adds emotional resonance to their fight. The fact that they died for it adds more. It wasn't a fight either had to take up; their position was pretty secure and could have just remained on the edges. They didn't and I think that means something.
Though, of course, if he isn't and has a role in Book 7 I'm willing to readjust my viewpoint depending on what that role is.
Ohh, um that was a really long way of saying - yup, agree, very much dead. (I think my babbling is a sign that I should just call it a day from work.)
