I'm in a bit of a writing rut after AIL 9, and with the travel I have planned for the next two weeks, I suspect I won't get much of 10 written before HBP. So...

I'm gakking an idea from other journals (most recently [livejournal.com profile] krislaughs) and saying challenge me. Toss me a prompt. Anything. In the AIL universe (as long as it's not really heavy angst), out of it, whatever... just with a few simple rules:

1.) The fic has to stay under 8,000 words. This is more for me, because we all know how wordy I get. (The average chapter of AIL is about 17,000-20,000 words.)

2.) No incest. In any way, shape, or form.

3.) I'm not much on writing hard NC-17, glitter, or AUs that don't take place in the wizarding world. I'm also more on "canon" pairings- or at least pairings that could concievably happen in canon. I will NOT write NC-17 or even R for the kids' generation.

Other than that... help a writer out. And since I tend to like people to illustrate my fics, if you've got an illustration you'd like a fic for, I'm all about that.

And gen? I LOVE gen. So all you people on this flist who don't think there's enough gen out here, here's your chance. I will very, VERY happily write gen!

ETA: As of 10:15 on Monday night, the prompts are (the list is more for my benefit than anyone else's!):

Young Caradoc and Moody (from the AIL universe)- [livejournal.com profile] aome
Regulus befriending one of his brother's friends, and one or both changing a bit- [livejournal.com profile] gehayi
Snape as a young DE/knowing Remus is spying for Dumbledore (probably AIL universe)- [livejournal.com profile] maglors_finch
Remus seeing Harry's Patronus- [livejournal.com profile] jazzypom
Sirius in dog form meeting Aunt Marge (hehehe)- [livejournal.com profile] yma2

All gen! Whoohoo!

That I can do. I suspect it will be assimilated into Accidentally In Love, but it's one of those things that can stand alone very easily, as well. (Maybe with a little explanation at the beginning.)

And I don't blame you for not having read AIL :) It's fricking looooooong. (As in, I seriously need a life long.)

Well, now that I've heard of AIL, I'll look for it. Unfortunately, I hadn't heard of it before today.

I envy people who can handle long stories. My longest completed story to date was 6,500 words. Took a couple of weeks to write it.

And thank you! I look forward to seeing your Regulus story!

It's over on Astronomy Tower, under Lupinslittlesister. It's also the sequel to Deny Thy Father (which is Sirius running away from home) and Mentors on the Dark Arts. I'd dig up the links (I really should put them on my front page or something), but it's getting late and I'm lazy. :) If you want them, I can dig them up tomorrow morning.

I have a nasty tendency to write long. Deny Thy Father is 6 chapters, Mentors is a one-shot but 20 pages in word, and Accidentally In Love is currently 9 very long chapters. But it's nice to actually write, as opposed to novel which is in editing.

And thanks for the prompt- should be interesting to write! (I have to say, I'm delighted. Every single prompt I got was pretty much gen!)
