Warning: I DO discuss the content of the spoilers.

Yeah, you know what? Aside from my "coping with Lupin/Tonks" therapy here (and I think I pissed off a R/T shipper at FAP, who promptly responded to my "why I don't care for Lupin/Tonks" post with "why Remus and Sirius don't make a good couple." All the same arguments, although I really respect her honestly on preferring Lupin/Tonks.), I've just decided that spoilers are all crap.

[livejournal.com profile] ignipes, stop laughing at me and saying I told you so. I know you are.

Yeah. I've known it anyway. Well, I don't KNOW it. I do think some of these spoilers could be right. But as I said in my last spoiler post? I think some of them could be gotten to by good guesswork. Except for Bill the Werewolf (which I've now seen a conflicting spoiler on) and Draco joining the DA and being kidnapped (but I don't read much about Draco), I haven't seen a single spoiler that hasn't been a fan speculation.

Dumbledore dying. Krum being the DADA prof. Bill and Fleur getting married. Ron/Hermione. NO Ron/Hermione. Harry/Ginny. NO Harry/Ginny. Harry getting involved in the Dark Arts. Seamus the Half-Blood Prince. Snape the Half-Blood Prince.

Every single one of those has been a "spoiler", and how many of them

1.) contradict

or

2.) have been seen in countless places as theories?

Sure, I'm preaching to the choir. But I'm also reviewing a particularly boring paper and needing to feel like life has some meaning, because lipases SUCK.

So without further ado, a Lissa "spoiler" for every paragraph I read and comment on. (Yes, the paper sucks that badly. And no, I have absolutely NO access to the books.)

1.) Amos Diggory will be the new Minister of Magic. I'm very fond of this theory, because I think he'd be a Crouch-type. Not too helpful, but not too hindering either. Actually, he kind of reminds me of Bush, but let's not go there, shall we?

2.) The silver hand of Peter Pettigrew's cannot Transfigure. Therefore, Peter cannot Transfigure into a rat. The loss of his Animagus form keeps him even more tightly bound to Voldemort. (I'm very proud of that theory, by the way.)

3.) The popular concensous among the spoilers is that the DADA prof is not a new character for once. (I still like my Mr. Lupin, Sr. theory, but I've always admitted that was a long-shot.) But I like Bill Weasley. I think he'd make a good DADA prof. After all, he's a curse-breaker, member of the Order, and former Head Boy. And as a newlywed (because I still like the Bill-Fleur wedding as the reason for Harry to leave Privet Drive), he doesn't really want to travel much.

4.) We will see TONS of history (relatively speaking) in this book, including much Founder-age. It's about time. (Oh, thank God. I'm almost done this wretched paper.)

5.) Ron's friendship with Harry is one of the pivotal defining characteristics about him, and will have the potential to come between Harry and Mrs. Weasley, because Ron is willing to take risks for Harry that Mrs. Weasley doesn't want him to take.

6.) Screw shipping. There will be no shipping in this book. Well, all right. There will be some. But not nearly as much as fandom likes to believe.

Ah, screw it all. It's almost 7:00. I'm done reading this. I'm going home.

Oops- I'm sorry. I figured with the subject heading, it was pretty clear the post was about spoilers, especially since I did cut it. If it helps at all, I have some really good reasons to suspect that the original poster was full of it, and they're not real spoilers. (Good reasons do NOT come from conflicting spoilers, but from the original poster's post.)

Anyway, I'll change it so it's clear. Sorry about that!

Don't worry, that wasn't such a catastrophe! Whith what I read, I still can believe these weren't true, and just ignore the way the R/S part of the fandom seems to get mad today ;)

And anyway, these "spoilers" aren't that important for the main story line, are they? Now give me (oh no don't!) something about Snape's past, or if the Wizarding World finally understands about Voldemort resurrection, and what they do about it! Tell me (oh no don't!) about how this book ends, if there's a temporary victory for Voldemort, or a bittersweet and partial one for Harry. Reveal me (oh no don't) what was the great surprise that made Harry go out of the Dursley's at the beginning! And if we know more about how Voldemort can die! Tell me (or not?) how the broken mirror comes back into the story, and if (oh please of please tell me oh no don't!) if Sirius comes back with it!

Well, I think I'll wait for two days, finally. Not that hard :D

Ugh. My reply just got eaten.

Yeah, you are right about the "spoilers" not being important. In fact, that's what makes me the most doubtful about the validity. Those questions you want answered? Didn't see a spoiler about any of them except one, and it's such a popular theory anyway it's hard to tell if it's a true spoiler or just good guesswork. In fact, aside from shipping "spoilers" (none of which agree, incidentally), there are no spoilers that I could find about Harry himself. Suspicious? I think so.

But yeah. None of my big questions have been spoiled. I want to know where Pettigrew is, and if he can still turn into a rat with that silver hand (my theory is it's unTransfigurable). Who's the new DADA prof, and are they any good? Will the DA continue? If it does, will it have a faculty advisor, or will Harry continue to lead it? What does Remus do for the Order, and is he a freaking Legilimens? Will he and Harry connect? (Preferably by having a blow-out fight for a change, and then eventually Harry apologizing first and forming a "new" relationship based on their lives as individuals, instead of who they were in relation to James?) Who are the new Quidditch players, and who's the new captain? What did Harry get on his O.W.L.s? Is Ron a Seer (if he's not looking into a crystal ball, that is?) Will we see lots of stuff about the Founders? Not a single spoiler about most of these, and I'd think these (along with Voldemort, who I actually have less interest in) are MUCH more important than who kisses who. :P

So I think there's DEFINITELY reasons to doubt all this. Not to mention the source could supposedly remember obviously minor details (even if Tonks/Lupin were to be true, it would not be major) and supposedly couldn't remember the name of Harry's love interest. Uh-huh. Someone's lying somewhere there.
