Real life mutterings
Oct. 19th, 2005 11:14 amUgh. I feel terrible. I'm 99% sure it's just a cold- it's a scratchy throat, stuffy nose, and headache, and a little bit of the chills and a lot of just feeling blech. But I can't take any of my favorite meds because of the baby. And I can't concentrate for long periods of time at all. Oh well. Soup for lunch today, I think!
On the bright side, it's just as well hubby's out of town for our anniversary today. Why do people keep telling me that sucks? If he WAS home, we probably still wouldn't do anything major tonight, even if I didn't have youth group. I might cook a nicer dinner than usual (if I didn't feel like crap), but we always wait until a weekend night to go out to dinner so we can relax and enjoy it. So he's not here today. Whoopee.
We've been married three years, together for eight. This is the first year we aren't giving each other gifts for the occasion. I feel a little wierd about it, to be honest, but money's getting tighter and to be honest, his birthday was August, mine is November, and Christmas is coming. I don't know what to get him, or what he should get me! We were just going to go see Wicked, but apparently that doesn't start playing around here until April. Oh well. Next weekend we're going out to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner, which is always nice. (REALLY nice place.) And I'm going to convince him to take me to the Melting Pot for my birthday. (Mmmmm... fondue...) Three years though. It went by fast.
There was something else I was going to say, but I don't remember it at all. :P That's what I get for feeling crappy. Oh well.
Hope everyone's got as nice of weather as we do!

And, just so you know, it's 40 degrees and spitting rain here, so your weather wins. :)

Date: 2005-10-19 04:32 pm (UTC)Mmmm, Melting Pot! I envy you. Haven't had fondue in ages.
Hope you feel better soon. You could at least have Tylenol for the aches and chills, couldn't you?

Date: 2005-10-19 04:54 pm (UTC)Gotta love the Melting Pot. Sooooooo good- especially dessert. One of the few restauants where dessert is absolutely mandatory!
I could take Tylenol, except I actually don't have it around. I keep meaning to get it, but unless I'm sick, I rarely have a headache, and I usually use baths to take care of muscle pain. The only painkiller I have around the place is Aleve, which definitely isn't permitted! And I don't have my car, so walking to the store to get Tylenol (a good hour of walking) is probably not the best call I've ever made.
Oh well! I'm going to use it as an excuse to curl up on the couch and watch a movie or something :)

Date: 2005-10-19 05:35 pm (UTC)Oh, and btw - from now on, all your anniversaries are going to be so totally different. Babysitters! HAHA!
Re: Did I inspire you?
Date: 2005-10-19 09:40 pm (UTC)And I know. This is the last anniversary quite this easy for a while!!! (Fortunately, in-laws live 5 miles away....)

Date: 2005-10-19 09:41 pm (UTC)I like gifts- don't get me wrong :) - it's just difficult with birthdays nearby. Plus, I have no car right now. Makes it much harder. And I'd rather spend time!
