Recs and Bitchy Question
Jun. 8th, 2006 03:32 pmTwo quick recs:
The Water Is Wide by
moondagny. R/S, Remus post-1981, and very, very, very well written. A great, strong Remus, and I think everyone reading this would like it, because I think pretty much all of you are driven nuts by a whiny emo Remus.
and
Prey by
teawithvoldy. Creey, but so well drawn. Gen, Fenrir and young Remus, and really rather heartbreaking.
And because I don't feel good and am feeling a bit bitchy, the question.
What are people looking for when they ask for "in character" Snape/Harry on FAP? Seriously? Realistically, or totally in character, the thought would never, EVER cross either one of their minds. Like I said, I'm feeling bitchy. I feel that way about a lot of other ships, too. Not necessarily non-canon ones, mind you. Just ones where the participants give every evidence of despising each other.
Anyway. :P I think I have a small fever and am coming down with something, and hubby's not due home until 7:30. We are so ordering out tonight. :P And Toby is trying to help me type. Thanks, sweetie, but it's easier if you don't help. On the bright side, I wrote a HAPPY scene for AIL today. Yay!

I have no idea, but it cracks me up to see that. Though, to be perfectly honest, I can't imagine in character Snape/Anyone, so I do have a bit of mental block in that area.
Also, sorry it's taking me so long, but I will get back to you about your story tonight. Things are just a tiny bit crazy (I'm leaving in a week? how did that happen?), but I started reading it at lunch today and was very disgruntled when I had to tear myself away to go back to work.

Date: 2006-06-08 07:59 pm (UTC)And no problem about the story- I totally understand the craziness!!!! :) If it gives you any idea of how not-quickly I'm reading these days, I'm STILL on Clash of Kings. (I have four chapters left.) It's driving me nuts, because it's not like it's a slow or bad book- quite the opposite. But just having the time (and focus) to read these days.... yeah. :P
Definitely understand crazy :)

Date: 2006-06-08 11:45 pm (UTC)I can even get around Harry showing all evidence of being straight, as long as the writer doesn't turn him into a sudden complete stereotype. I mean, I ship Harry/Ginny, but if I was wanted to do something else, I'd be all over Harry/Ron, because I like friend/friend ships. Harry's young enough still that it could be done no problem, especially if you went bi. But that's easily the smallest of the problems.....
